Gun Thefts Worry Local Authorities

A pair of recent burglaries have local authorities concerned about the safety of both the public and law enforcement.

The first unsolved case comes from Galva, IL, where during the overnight hours of Tuesday, November 27 into Wednesday, November 28, 2012, a garage was entered in the northwest part of town and burglars took a handgun and two shotguns. A small-size tan sport-utility type vehicle was seen in the area, but authorites have no leads in this case.

Another unsolved case comes from Andover, IL, where sometime between Friday, January 11 and Sunday, January 13, 2013, burglars removed a semi-automatic “assault” style rifle and another smaller caliber rifle from a vehicle. Also taken were several accessories including a case and a bipod mount.
